Hungarian success in rocket development

The BME Suborbitals team, also supported by Gyémánt-Pirazol Kft., placed 5th and received two special awards at the European Rocketry Challenge 2025 competition. Their rocket reached an altitude of 2,232 meters!

The competition, now in its 6th year, is organized by the Portuguese Space Agency, and teams of students from European universities compete with rockets they have designed and built themselves. Nearly 700 students from 16 European countries took part in this year's competition.

The team BME Suborbitals from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, received two special awards: the Team Award and the Technical Award. They achieved 2nd place in the solid rocket category and 5th place overall among the 30 teams that took part.
